Mixed Finish For Birdseeds

VANCOUVER - Mar 6/10 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets posted a mixed finish during the past week, as values in Canada eased and markets in the United States were unchanged to firmer.

White proso millet and confectionary sunflower markets finished the week's trading mostly unchanged in relatively light end-user demand.

Since January, oil-type sunflower markets have risen up to 80 cents per 100 pounds (cwt) at most U.S. crushing plants while new crop prices increased between 40 and 50 cents.
