Easier Tone in Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Feb 26/10 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets finished the week on an easier note, with markets for several major classes easing in the face of seasonally light demand.

This was reflected in a 23 point decline in the spot market index for U.S. origin beans to 1135 points at week's end; while the spot grower bid index sank 60 points on the week to 1028.

Markets were disappointed with the quantity of beans requested on last week's regularly scheduled USDA PL-480 food aid tender.
