Jvc Head Unit Wiring Diagram

Posted in Uncategorized by admin on August 31, 2010

I need a diagram for a 96 chevy beretta radio wires can any one help?

I took my car to best buy to install my jvc head unit and he told me because i dont have the stock radio harness that he would have to rewire the whole car and it would cost me $145. If you know where to find the harness or if you know what colors go to what PLEASE HELP
Alright i used the diagram some one posted and it helped but i have two black wires and no switched 12v wire but when i reconected my negitive battery connection my head unit turned on showed 1:00pm then turns right back off i have rest the head unit replaced every fuse in my car. I also do not have any gauge lights. i guess my car is just a bunch of crap lol

It is true that if you don’t have the stock harness it costs more for installation, but there is no reason it should cost you an extra $145 unless you have the Bose stereo, in which case you will have to rewire it.

Take it to a different shop. Usually BestBuy only charges an extra $35, which if you are referring to the total price being $145, is about right ($50 Labor, $20 Dash Kit, $15 GM Antenna, $35 Wire In Harness) = $120. If you are wanting to wire it in yourself, here is the diagram:

Constant 12V+ Orange
Switched 12V+ Yellow
Ground Black
Illumination Gray
Dimmer Brown
Antenna Trigger Pink
Antenna Right Front
Front Speakers 4″ x 6″ Kick Panels
Left Front (+) Tan
Left Front (-) Gray
Right Front (+) Light Green
Right Front (-) Dark Green
Rear Speakers 6″ x 9″ Rear Deck
Left Rear (+) Brown
Left Rear (-) Yellow
Right Rear (+) Dark Blue
Right Rear (-) Light Blue

Make sure you understand what each wire does, before you attempt to do the instillation. It will save you from major issues down the road, and knowing how your radio functions will help with trouble shooting.

Hope it helps :)

**There are a few things that might be causing this. The most obviouse one would be if you accidently misswired the radio, as this would cause a short, and would blow a fuse. You would then have to completely remove the stereo before replacing fuse, or else you run the risk of blowing it again as soon as you insert it.
**I would reccommend taking it to the shop at this point. You will be lucky if your stereo still works, and you don’t want to mess around too much, especially if you have air bags.
